Qian Shaowu
Introduction: Comes from Wuxi. Jiangsu Province.
Resume: Since 1942 he began to learn traditional Chinese Painting and in 1947 he entered Central Academy of Fine Arts and in 1951 he graduated there and became a teacher then; in 1953 he went to Russia to study sculpture and graduated in 1959 and gained the title of Artist; in 1977 he become a vice professor in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and up to the year of 1986, he became a professor and the director of Sclupture Department, then he retired in 1989.
Position: Committee member of China Art Education, a consultant of Beijing Government, director of sculpture department of China Arts and Crafts Institute, member of sculpture department of China Artists Association, etc.
Works being collected: Sculpture, Sing of the Road was collected by China Revolution and History Museum; Du Fu¡¯s Portrait was collected by China Art Museum; Jiang Feng¡¯s Portrait gained silver madel in the 6th National Art Exhibition and was collected by China Art Museum;
Other sculpture works includes: Portrait of Li Dazhao; Portrait of Yan Emperor; Portrait of Li Qingzhao; Portrait of Huang Zhou; Portrait of Yan Jici; Martyrs in Shijiazhuang, etc.
