A young Chinese artist is exhibiting her paintings at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The art show, entitled "Sound of Ink," features paintings and calligraphy by 23-year-old Zhou Suyin. The UN Under Secretary General for economic and social affairs, Sha Zukang,said at the opening ceremony that Zhou is "the youngest artist ever" to have an exhibition in the landmark UN building. In 2004, Zhou entered Colombia University in New York. Embracing both the spirit of Oriental philosophy and Western culture, she aims to bring Chinese ink and wash painting to a wider audience.
